Write choose Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Write choose - Term Paper Example In this respect, the question of how man started hunting and the methods that he applied comes into the fore. Thus, this discussion seeks to assess the methods applied by the early man during hunting. Hunting by fire is one of the methods that have been discovered being used by the early man. Fire was among the first discoveries that early man made, which changed the lifestyle of early man drastically, especially as related to the eating habits of man (Nitecki, 5). The earliest archeological evidences have indicated that the early forms of man were eating raw foods, but the discovery of fire came in handy as a means of enabling man eat a variety of food, as well as helping man insulate against cold. The sooner fire was discovered to be an important item that could change the life of man in different ways, the sooner it was also adapted as a hunting tool, where man could chase after the animals with a lit torch of fire towards the cliffs (Stanford and Bunn, 4). This way, the animals could get injured as they fell down the cliff and man would be able to take them and use them for food. Another method that has been discovered as having been used by early man in hunting is the use of crude weapons such as stones (Nitecki, 12). Amongst the important tools that have proven useful for man during the early human forms is the stones, which were not only used as weapons for protection and security against harmful animals, but also as a tool for digging tubers and roots that man used as food during those days. Eventually, man adapted the stones as tools for hunting, which they could use to chase after animals and throw at them, thus injuring and incapacitating the animals (Stanford and Bunn, 9). The same tools would be used to kill and then slaughter the animals, owing to the fact that the early form of humans had not discovered metallic or any other form of

Canada Is Becoming Too Americanized Essay -- essays research papers
Canada Is Becoming Too Americanized Today Canada and the United States are major trading partners, allies, and two neighboring countries with a long history of cooperation with each other. But is it possible for Canada to protect its independence and culture living next door to the country so powerful and rich as the United States. Since the Canadian confederation, Canada started developing relations with the U.S. As the years passed by, Canada began to relay on the United States in the national defense. Many Canadians think that the military, political and economical dependence would not make a difference to their daily life. But today more then even Canadian culture is affected by the American influence. Media, American artists, economic dependence, American propaganda and political pressure from the United States is making Canada too Americanized. All of these factors reflect on the social life of ordinary Canadians threatening the heritage and the traditions that define Canada as independent country. Canada and the United States are the largest trade partners in the world. It is the result of the geographical position of two countries and the free trade between two countries. It should be a great thing for the economies of both countries, but since the North American Free Trade Agreement was signed, American businesses almost took over the Canadian economy. When the American companies started to make more business in Canada, it brought more jobs and money to the country in the short-term. Speech on Bullying.
Speechâ⬠¦ Imagine getting beaten up every day at school for no reason, by your class mates or maybe by some senior boys you donââ¬â¢t even know, or maybe even an adult. You come home in bruises and cuts and dried up blood. Can you imagine that? Or if you are a girl imagine getting teases every day. People calling you horrible names, mocking you because of your appearance or your back ground, you come home all sad and hurt inside. Can you imagine that? Or can you even imagine getting punch at and getting picked at calling you names in class and threating texts every minute whether you are in class or at home and your friends wouldnââ¬â¢t help you out because they are too scared of the bully and the bully would follow you homeâ⬠¦ wouldnââ¬â¢t you feel scared? Imagine that? There are people who experience this in their day to day life. When bullied someone especially for a long time wheater its physical, verbal social or cyber, it would make the personââ¬â¢s life very miserable and in some very bad cases it might lead to killing themselves because they just canââ¬â¢t hand the pressure or the humiliation that they face every day. Iââ¬â¢m going to tell you about bulling and why I think it is bad to bully someone! There are for types of bullying physical, verbal, cyber and social.Physical bullying as you know is when the bully punches, kicks, hits or any types of physical attacks. Then there is verbal bullying, basically what verbal bullying is, when the bully uses words to hurt or humiliate you. Verbal bullying includes name calling racist comments and insulting. Social bullying is a strange type of bullying because it kind of links with verbal bullying. Finally there is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is when you are threated humiliated, harassed by the bullying using the internet. There is no limitation of cyber bullying because there is so many things you could do on the internet to cyber bully. You could get cyber bullied on Facebook, MySpa ce or msn or in some cases, the bullies can cyber bully you by just making a website just for you. Also the thing with cyber bulling is that it is a new type of bullying because if you go back 50years, there wouldnââ¬â¢t be any internet or any mobile phones therefore no cyber bullying!Personally I think that physical bullying is the least dangerous type of bullying because when you get physically bullied there will be scars or marks and your parents will know that something is wrong. Where verbal, social is and cyber you wouldnââ¬â¢t know when it will go away, you wonââ¬â¢t know when the bully will stop calling you names and humiliating you Some of you might still argue that some bulling at a young age can be good for you because it will make you have to overcome problems and you will develop some social skills and learn that life isnââ¬â¢t always fair.I disagree with this because most of the victims canââ¬â¢t and wonââ¬â¢t stand up for themselves and how would you develop social skills if people are rejecting you. Everybody learns that life isnââ¬â¢t always fair not through bullying but from maybe getting blamed for things they didnââ¬â¢t do or having to do chores at home every day. So what do you think of bullying now?

Lean-Burn Engines
Lean-burn means pretty much what it says. It is a lean amount of fuel supplied to and burned in an engineââ¬â¢s combustion chamber. Gasoline burns best in standard internal combustion engines when it is mixed with air in the proportions of 14.7:1 ââ¬â nearly 15 parts of air to every one part of fuel. A true lean-burn can go as high as 32:1. If internal combustion engines were 100 percent efficient, the fuel would burn and produce just carbon dioxide (CO2) and water. But the reality is, engines are far less efficient and the combustion process also produces carbon monoxide (CO),à oxides of nitrogen (NOx)à and unburnedà hydrocarbons in addition to CO2 and water vapor. In order to reduce these harmful exhaust emissions, two basic approaches have been used: Catalytic converters that clean up the exhaust gases coming from the engine, and lean-burn engines which produce lower levels of emissions by better combustion control and more complete fuel burning inside the engine cylinders. Engineers have known for years that a leaner air to fuel mixture is a frugal engine. The problems are, if the mixture is too lean, the engine will fail to combust, and a lower fuel concentration leads to less output. Lean-burn engines overcome these issues by employing a highly efficient mixing process. Specially shaped pistons are used along with intake manifolds that are located and angled to match the pistons. Additionally, the engineââ¬â¢s inlet ports can be shaped to cause ââ¬Å"swirlâ⬠ââ¬â a technique borrowed from direct injection diesel engines. Swirl leads to a more complete mixing of fuel and air that enables more complete burning, and in the process reduces pollutants without altering the output. The downside of lean-burn technology is increased exhaustà NOxà emissions (due to higher heat and cylinder pressure) and a somewhat narrower RPM power-band (due to slower burn rates of lean mixtures). To address these problems lean-burn engines have precise lean-metered directà fuel injection, sophisticated computer controlled engine management systems and more complexà catalytic converters to further reduce NOx emissions. Todayââ¬â¢s advanced lean-burn engines, both gasoline and diesel, achieve noteworthy fuel efficiency performance during both city and highway driving conditions. In addition to the fuel economy advantage, the design of lean-burn engines results in a high torque power output relative to horsepower rating. For drivers, this means not only savings at the fuel pump, but also a driving experience that includes a vehicle that accelerates quickly with fewer harmful emissions from the tailpipe.

What Is Plasma and What Is It Used For
Plasma is considered the fourth state of matter. The other fundamental states of matter are liquids, solids,à and gases. Typically, plasma is made by heating a gas until its electrons have sufficient energy to escape the hold of the positively charged nuclei. As molecular bonds break and atoms gain or lose electrons, ions form. Plasma can be made using a laser, microwave generator, or any strong electromagnetic field. Although you may not hear much about plasma, it is the most common prevalent state of matter in the universe and it relatively common on Earth. What Is Plasma Made Of? Plasma is madeà of free electronsà and positively charged ions (cations). Properties of Plasma Because plasma consists of charged particles, plasma reacts to electromagnetic fields and conducts electricity. In contrast, most gases are electrical insulators.Like a gas, plasma has neither a defined shape nor volume. When plasma is exposed to a magnetic field, it may assume structures, including layers, filaments, and beams. A good example of some of these structures can be observed in a plasma ball. What Is Plasma Used For? Plasma is used in television, neon signs and fluorescent lights. Stars, lightning, the Aurora,à and some flames consist of plasma. Where Can You Find Plasma? You probably encounter plasma more often than you think. More exotic sources of plasma include particles in nuclear fusion reactors and weapons, but everyday sources include the Sun, lightning, fire, and neon signs. Other examples of plasma include static electricity, plasma balls, St. Elmos fire, and the ionosphere.

The Purposes of the Three Witches in Macbeth Free Essays
The Purposes of the Three Witches in Macbeth Macbeth is a symbolic story of how people can be easily influenced. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth meets the three witches and hears about his prophecy from them which he will become the next King of Scotland. These witches are important characters to develop the story. We will write a custom essay sample on The Purposes of the Three Witches in Macbeth or any similar topic only for you Order Now Every time when Macbeth needed them, he received prophecies from them. These prophecies affect Macbeth and reveal his evil personality. As revealed in the play, the purposes of the three witches in the play are to foreshadow, advance the plot, and show the human weakness. One of the purposes of the witches in the play is to set allusions. In the beginning of act one scene one, the three witches plan? to meet at the open field to see Macbeth after the battle is over. As they promised, they wait for Macbeth and Banquo to return from the battlefield. When they faced each other, the third witch said, ââ¬Å"All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafterâ⬠(Macbeth 1. 3. 51) to Macbeth. Then the first witch tells Banquo that, ââ¬Å"Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none/ So all hail, Macbeth and Banquo! â⬠(Macbeth 1. 3. 8-69), which she meant that Banquo will become the father of the kings. Later in the story, Macbeth seeks for the three witches to hear more about his future. They told him that ââ¬Å"Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn/ The power of man, for none of woman born/ Shall harm Macbeth. â⬠(Macbeth 4. 1 81-83). These prophecies eventually become true. There are no doubts that the tree witches allure the story by tell ing the futures. The weird witches not only foreshadow but also advance the story. The story mainly develops by the prophecies. After Macbeth hears about his future from the witches, he writes a letter to Lady Macbeth, his wife, about the prophecy. Since Lady Macbeth had no doubt about this prophecy of Macbeth becoming the king, she plans to assassinate the King Duncan to fulfill the prophecy. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth put their plan into action. Successfully, Macbeth killed the king and put false charge on Malcolm and Donalbain for assassinating the king to become sovereign. As a result, Macbeth took the next throne of the Scotland. While he rules Scotland with insanity, Malcolm seeks for revenge and makes an army to fight against Macbeth. With a growing fear in Macbethââ¬â¢s heart, he goes to find the three witches again to receive another prophecy. He gets told that no men who came through a womanââ¬â¢s womb could harm him. He scoffs and eases his fear of death. However towards the end of the play, he faces death by Macduff, who was delivered by cesarean section. By giving prophecies, the witches indirectly affect the play to create tensions. The play of Macbeth clearly showed the human weakness. The witches did not force Macbeth to kill the king or to commit any crimes. Macbeth was a loyal general of King Duncan along with Banquo. However, after he hears the words from the three weird sisters, he had a conversation with Banquo about what they heard and he says, ââ¬Å"My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,/ Shakes so my single state of man/ That function is smothered in surmise,/ And nothing is but what is notâ⬠(Macbeth 1. . 142- 145). From this conversation, his personality was revealed which he is a man who would not kill the king to attain his ambition. However, Macbeth eventually gets affected by the prophecy that he shows his ambitions toward the kingship and his evil personality. His influenced aspect is clearly shown when the second witch notes, that ââ¬Å"By the pricking of my thumbs,/ something wicked this way comesâ⬠(Macbeth 4. 1. 44-45). From this quote, it shows that Macbethââ¬â¢s pe rsonality became evil. The purposes of the witches are not only to develop the story but also to show that people are easily influenced. The weird sisters, the three witches, in the play do not advent often but have essential roles. They give prophecy to Macbeth which creates ambition in his heart. They are the main element that creates the consequences in the play. Their role in the story gave Macbeth a thought that they know he would expand on and reveal his human weakness.
